Forget about S 896. Just researched it further. It was signed by the President on 5/20 and became Public Law No: 111-22. The Huffington article was published 5/8.

I see that now on the copy of the amendment at the end of the Huffington Post article. Thanks.

Gary, the document shows that bill number to be S.896. Sure, when we make our calls we could tell them to vote for s.604 not s.896

Steven,

Should we include any action about this? :

I looked up HC-45(cited in the above artice) and this is what I found:

H.CON.RES.45
Title:Expressing the sense of the Congress that the United States Postal Service should issue a postage stamp in commemoration of Congressman Adam Clayton Powell, Jr.

My fiance and I both called our representative (who has not yet co-sponsered the bill yet).....I truly hope enough people called today to make sure our voices are heard!!!! I will be following up with a weekly email and phone call to see if my rep decides to get on board.
END THE FED NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Called my rep's local office - he hasn't released a statement yet. I looked at the other bills he cosponsored, and they are all BS bills like honoring Arnold Palmer...now, if it was to honor the severed head of Arnold Palmer, now we'd be talking!

Useless track record here:

Called my rep today...he is actually one that is supporting the bill. Of course I didn't talk directly to him, but I expressed my thanks and appreciation for his support of it.

Called my rep today to follow up on my email from last week. Since my email, he signed up as a co-sponsor and I thanked him for his support. Urged him to speak with his colleagues about supporting this important bill. This Congressman co-sponsoring means a lot since he is on the Financial Committee.
