End The Fed Network

Sound Money for America! Audit the Fed - Repeal the Federal Reserve Act!

This is the event we are going to protest:

http://www.chicagofed.org/news_and_conferences/conferences_and_events/2009_bsc.cfm

The conference is open to the public starting on the 7th and that is also when Bernanke will give a keynote address via satelitte, so that is the date we have chosen to protest. A couple of us are going to arrive at 7am and catch people walking in. We are going to dress in suits and act as if we are helping with the event or with the hotel by just standing flanking the entrance handing people HR 1207 'slim jim' fliers as they walk in. Registration starts around 8 and we will do this until about 9am. Our hope is that everyone attending the event will take a flier because they will think its part of the event. We are hoping to get most people entering the building so a good amount of people will have this flier and take it inside with them, hopefully then they will bring it up at the actual convention. At the same time, we will be protesting outside, hopefully they can see us from the windows.

More people will arrive around 8.30 - 9am when Bernanke is scheduled to speak. That's when you should plan on arriving. People will be meeting near the entrance of the Hotel, we don't expect a huge crowd. Then we will commence a general protest, standing around with signs, perhaps chanting. We will probably just be standing along the sidewalk. This event is also planned on meetup.com. We will also have a bullhorn. We might be able to catch people who are in the event who come outside for a break or something. We will be distributing DVDS and literature and collecting signitures.

Please make signs like this: "Free markets are the only way to solve the crisis" and "Central planing is a failure" and "You're money is fraudulent" and "Central control of fiat money leads to slavery" and "Artificial credit creation creates unsustainable bubbles" and "Austrian Economics got it right" Also bring whatever you have that could be distributed to people on the sidewalk.

The message and the signs should be specifically targeted to the event. There is no guarentee, but it would be great if people in the conference rooms will see these signs that are addresssed specifically to the topics in the conference. Bernanke said in a recent speech to the CFR that he didn't think there was anyone left who thought markets could solve the crisis. Lets show him he's wrong. They are in there touting false causes and planning the solution that will affect all of us probably without any consideration for the Austrian solution or free markets.

Yeah those signs are great too. I wasn't saying those are the only type of signs we should have, I was just saying here are some other ideas and lets not have signs that are about any politician or party, focus on the fed and monetary policy specifically. I wanted to add it as an event, but I couldn't figure out how, I'll try again

Thanks for taking initiative. You might post this as an Event on the calendar and also email it to the members of the Chicago ETF group here.

Why not some signs that say Audit the Fed! and Support HR 1207? And End the Fed? There's a good chance that you can get some media and I think those are important messages for people to see. We need to boost the profile of HR 1207 at every opportunity.

Good job.
