July 25, 2011. Washington. After emergency meetings by both Republican and Democratic Congressional leaders this weekend, it looks like the nation is on its way to a settlement in the debt crisis negotiations. While most political experts predicted a final compromise, it appears like it’s going to be a one-sided victory for the Tea Party led House Republicans. Media outlets all over Washington are reporting on the two final plans drawn up by each side, and neither one raises taxes on the super rich or closes corporate loopholes. Instead, both plans cut social programs and raise the debt ceiling an equal amount.
